Hosting Acceptable Use Policy
This policy covers apps you publish with Codira hosting, at a codira.space address or your own domain. It is part of the Terms of Service. It exists because everything published here shares one domain: an app that deceives people damages every other app beside it.
1.What you may publish
Anything lawful that you have the right to publish: your own work, or work you are licensed to use. You keep ownership of everything you publish. Codira claims no rights in it beyond what is needed to store, build and serve it for you.
2.What you may not publish
- Anything that pretends to be another company, service or person — including addresses, logos, branding or sign-in pages chosen to be mistaken for someone else's.
- Pages that collect passwords, card numbers, bank details or identity documents under a false identity.
- Malware, ransomware, cryptominers, or anything whose purpose is to harm a visitor's device or data.
- Content that sexually exploits children, or that a reasonable person would understand as inciting violence against people.
- Material that infringes someone else's copyright, trademark or other rights.
- Bulk unsolicited email, or infrastructure built to send it.
- Attacks on other systems — scanning, denial of service, credential stuffing, proxying traffic to hide its origin.
- Deliberate attempts to break out of the environment your app runs in, or to reach other customers' apps or data.
- Illegal goods and services, and schemes whose returns depend on recruiting others.
Adult material that is legal, consensual and clearly labelled is not banned outright, but it must not be published at an address or with branding that misleads anyone about what it is.
3.How launches are checked
Every launch is checked automatically before it goes online. A launch is held for a person to look at when, for example, its address imitates a well-known brand, it shows a sign-in page naming another company, or it links to a site known for phishing or malware.
A held launch shows as “Waiting for review” in Codira. We aim to review within four hours during the working day, and by the following morning overnight. If the app was already live, the version already online keeps running while the new one waits.
These checks look at the files you publish and the addresses they link to. They are not a review of your code, and passing them is not our endorsement of your app.
4.Reports and what we do about them
Anyone can report an app at codira.com/report. A person reads every report.
- Phishing, malware and anything targeting a person's safety: taken offline as soon as we confirm it, without notice.
- Copyright complaints: handled as set out in the Terms of Service.
- Everything else: we contact you first and normally give 48 hours to put it right.
- Payment fraud: the account is closed and the card is reported to our payment provider.
Taking an app offline keeps its files, domains and settings. Nothing is deleted while a case is open, so an app can be restored if we got it wrong.
5.If we get it wrong
Reply to the email we send, or write to abuse@codira.space. A person will look again. If your app was held or suspended by mistake, we put it back and say so.
6.Resources and fair use
Hosting is charged by the hour from your credits, at the size you choose. Apps that use far more than their size allows — by sustained abuse of shared resources such as bandwidth, or by running work unrelated to serving your own app — may be moved to a larger size or paused, after we contact you.
One account may run up to 25 apps, hold up to 5 unlaunched addresses, and create up to 10 apps a day. Ask if you need more.
7.Changes
We will post changes to this policy here, and tell paid customers by email before they take effect, unless a change is needed immediately to stop harm.
